Issues
My goals are to strengthen the school system for the long haul by supporting options that will provide sustainable results, both budgetarily and academically.
- Ensure access to education best suited for every student
- Continue to support various pathways to graduation
- Advocate for the resources and policies that will help all students succeed
- Work toward our strategic plan
- Make decisions that improve student outcome
- Promote avenues for all students to feel heard and safe
- Strengthen district-wide efforts to address bullying
I understand that my responsibility is to serve students, families and educators in a way that leads to real impact. Intentional decisions that align with our district’s strategic plan help define the focus. As a board, we must be focused on student success and educational outcomes.
Listening to a wide range of community voices helps me inform balanced and inclusive decisions.
Whose voices are not being heard?
I want to know your thoughts, concerns and desires for our schools.
I’m a team player and a good listener. “Assume good intent” is the platform from which I begin. Yes, there are areas that need improvement and we will continue to implement best practices and create better norms. As we do so, let’s not lose sight of the goodness that grows within… every student, every day.
"I, Boo Schneider, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution and Laws of the United States and the Constitution and Laws of the State of Washington, and that I will faithfully and impartially perform and discharge the duties of the office of School Director of Methow Valley School District No. 350 according to law to the best of my ability."
As school board directors we are sworn in with an oath that states we will follow state law and policy. I believe purpose anchors our work and helps us persevere through uncertainty, difficulty and change.
Our state and federal resources are a bit uncertain, future challenges will always exist and we are welcoming a new superintendent. Growth is a constant outcome ~ I choose to participate and I’m very optimistic.
Community service is important to me. My career centered on public education and personal joy has always come from supporting others.
